Pioneer Natural Resources any was formed through the 1997 merger of Parker & Parsley Petroleum Company and MESA Inc. In September 2004, Pioneer merged with Evergreen Resources, Inc., creating a new core area in the Rocky Mountains that enhances Pioneer’s strong foundation in North America.
Pioneer’s efforts of improving drilling returns and execution are made possible with its proprietary service equipment in Texas. It owns approximately 300,000 horsepower of fracture stimulation equipment, making Pioneer the 13th largest fracture stimulation company in the U.S.
In June 2010, Pioneer entered into an Eagle Ford Shale joint venture with Reliance Industries Limited. EFS Midstream now designs, constructs, owns and operates facilities providing gas gathering, treating, condensate stabilization, and transportation services in South Texas.
Project Experience Includes:
Pioneer is one of the most active drillers in Texas’ Spraberry/Wolfcamp oil field in the Permian Basin and the Eagle Ford Shale play in South Texas. It is one of the largest natural gas operators in the Rockies and Mid-Continent regions with assets in the coal bed methane-rich Raton Basin as well as in the Hugoton and Texas Panhandle gas fields.
Its operations include ongoing drilling programs in Texas’ liquids-rich Barnett Shale Combo play and in Alaska’s Oooguruk field, where Pioneer became the first independent operator to produce oil on the North Slope.
