Tamboran is a privately held Australian-based explorer for unconventional (shale) oil and gas in Australia, with licencing options in Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Botswana.
Tamboran Resources takes its name from “Haus Tambaran”, which is the name given to a type of ancestral worship house in the East Sepik region of Papua New Guinea. A Haus Tambaran serves as a meeting house and a spirit house for the local community.

The logo is a stylised version of the shape of the front of a Haus Tambaran, and features three colours to represent the firm’s core operating areas: Green and Orange for Ireland and Northern Ireland, as well as Light Khaki for the earthy colour of Australia and Botswana.
